About
The name, The Carrock Metal originates from the book, The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien.
Drawing by Alan Lee, one of the concept artists for both the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies.
“At the base was a little cave with adjacent steps that led to a flat space upon the top.”
After having read The Hobbit, the name “the Carrock” stuck out to me. I knew I wanted to do something with this name but what, exactly, remained a mystery. Long story short, I played around with the name and after having learnt that “Car” in “Carrock” translated to the English word, rock, I thought that it would be a good idea to add the word “Metal” at the end and create a webzine with a twist. I’m still undecided about that twist nonetheless, there is still plenty of time to figure that one out!
The Carrock Metal is a not-for-profit webzine, forged on January 7th 2013. Our aim is to bring you the latest news fresh from the metal community.
